The Kingdoms of Magic Book 2 Excerpt
Winkle is struggling with three wrapped packages under his
arms, two large and one smaller, as he comes up to the Queen. He
bows.
Queen Elise asks, “What do you have here, my extraordinary
friend? You never cease to amaze me!”
Daleana laughs, “Me neither, he can even make berry muffins!”
Winkle turns to the wagons and hollers to Jamie, “Pull back the
covers!”
Jamie pulls back the covers on the wagons to reveal bows, axes,
lances, shields and armor!
Winkle proclaims heartily, “Some supplies for your guards! I
will get more later for the other warriors. My crews were happy to
make them. And for you, my Queen, (as he bows and hands her the
two larger packages) here are presents from my clan and me.
Please open them.”
Queen Elise takes the packages. Two aids come over to help her un-wrap them.
She opens the first. Her eyes widen. It’s a beautiful armor breast plate engraved with her monogram
in gold and lots of fairy filigree. “It’s fantastic! So beautiful! Thank you so much!!” she responds, giving him a hug.
He’s flabbergasted and turns red.
Winkle states, “All my artisans and I worked happily through the night to make that and the ones for your guards.
