The Kingdoms of Magic Book 2 Excerpt
. . . Winkle has two medium sized carts, loaded to the hilt and attached together, being pulled by a very large Slyth.
The Slyth are snake-like creatures. They are very strong and have the crushing power of a python. They can raise their bodies to six and one half feet high. . . .
Queen Elise and Daleana stand up in amazement. The guards
all have their bows aimed at the Slyth. Queen Elise orders them to
lower their weapons. They do.
The Slyth pulling the carts, Winkle and Jamie come up near the
boulder. Daleana is in awe.
Winkle, waving, announces, “Hey, I’m back and I‘ve brought you
some things.” Every one stands still, still looking at the Slyth. Winkle, looking around, notices this. He walks over to the Slyth
and hugs her. All are amazed.
“She’s my big buddy,” he says, “she doesn’t come above ground
often, but when she does she visits me. Please meet Chardonnay.”
Chardonnay answers, “I am glad I can be of asssisstance!”
All are taken aback to see that the Slyth can talk.
Queen Elise says in surprise, “I had no idea you could talk. Please forgive me. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
