The Kingdoms of Magic Book 5 Excerpt
Commander Rank has his forces quietly surround the Country house. Commander Rank is not far from the front of the Country House. He is hidden in the tall grass near some trees.
He sees there are guards out front and some walking in the court yard. Starania, the Sorceress and their accompaniment are hunched down behind the Commander. All is quiet.
Starania whispers close to the commander’s ear, “We need to find out what room she is in.”
Commander Rank turns to her, irked, and says softly, “What - I thought you already knew?”
Starania whispers, disgruntled, “No! How am I supposed to know that? It’s late in the evening. Am I supposed to guess?
She could be walking around somewhere or who knows what. Maybe she’s having a turkey leg in the kitchen. I don’t even know where her bedroom is.”
Commander Rank puts his hand on his face in bewilderment and says, “I may lose my head over this!” He looks up, “Ok, let me see what I can do about this. If we
have a battle and they signal the Kings Castle we’re in for it.”
