The Kingdoms of Magic Book 3 Excerpt

The Fairy Guard sates, “Your Majesty, this is Prince Jenaka.”
The Prince and his three guards bow.  One guard is holding a package.  Queen Elise stands, as do the others with her.  "You may rise.”
Prince Jenaka stands straight and says, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Queen of Nor.”
Queen Elise puts out her hand to shake his.  The Prince cocks his head to the side looking at the Queen as he is amazed at the friendship she is putting forth.  They shake hands.
Prince Jenaka says in surprise, “I have never had any royalty shake my hand but King Zurich.  He was the only one who gave us a place to exist and I have the highest respect for him.  I can see why you are his choice to take his place.” . . .
His guard gives the Prince the box he was holding.  It is a beautiful, ornately carved wooden box with a silver clasp and trim.  Its carvings are that of flowers of the forest.  The Prince hands it to the Queen and says, “Please accept this gift to welcome you as Queen Elise of Nor!”
She takes it and looks at the Box.  She says, “The box itself is a fine gift, beautiful art work!”  She opens it and looks inside.  It’s a box of seeds.  She takes a few out and looks at them in her hand.  She says mystified, “My, what interesting looking seeds!”
Daleana looking at the seeds in the Queen’s hand says, surprised, “These are Juniper Seeds: such an exceptionally fine gift, Prince Jenaka!”
