Book review of Azeroth Prime: The War Begins by Roland W. Craig
Given a peak into her world, it is easy to become enamored with Princess Kara, as she agonizes over how to protect her city from the exiled, Zull, who has sworn to return and have his revenge. You naturally wish to be among her “friends” called upon through an undersea portal into a land in another time and dimension, to help in her effort . But the professor and his student, who do make the journey, are perfect for the job. Their advanced knowledge and experience combine with the swords and sorcery of the natives to gradually determine the odds of success against an enemy who has gained special powers of his own by accessing one of three secret books hidden by the ancient elders. He and his griffin riding ghouls have become a dangerous force to be reckoned with.
Azeroth Prime: The War Begins, the most compelling work by artist/author Robert Marquiss and co-author Ray Hemphill, gives the reader a captivating mix of heroes and heroines, both young and old, using newer technology and older wisdom. These are believable characters, who experience fascination with the differences between them and the things they have in common, including forbidden desires. The story line grabs you from the beginning and continually draws you in deeper, at a suspenseful arms length, as it develops new twists and subplots along the way. It is easier to finish this book in one sitting than it is to put it down.
